SnapIT Solutions has a full-time opening for an experienced Automation Test Engineer. In this role, you will lead product development teams and define the product vision and roadmap. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to gather requirements and set priorities. The ideal candidate has a technical background, experience in product development, and strong leadership skills. This is a 80-20% (remote-onsite) hybrid working position in the KC metropolitan area OR 100% remote for candidates outside the metropolitan area.

Basic Qualifications

• Typically requires at least 6 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

• Knowledge in some of the following technologies on a Cloud platform: AWS cloud native services, Infrastructure as Code, Python, Java, GitLab, and PostgreSQL.

• Proven Java coding experience required.

• Proven testing automation experience required.

• Senior understanding of subject. Has in-depth and/or breadth of knowledge in discipline

• Performs work independently with limited supervision and direction. Serves as a resource for less experienced staff.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of the Testing Pyramid and Shift Left Testing philosophy.

• Proven application testing experience that includes testing of large, complex, enterprise-wide applications on a variety of platforms, including experience with Java development environments.

• Application development and business analysis background and experience.

• Applies Quality Assurance techniques and best practices in evaluating and critiquing business processes, as well as technical and functional documentation.

• Ability to envision implementations from a user/business perspective and has sufficient technology acumen to communicate with Engineers and Product Ownership.

• Understands software development processes, requirements engineering, architectures and quality assurance.

• Proficient in writing test plans, test cases, user guides and use cases for the intended audience(s).

• Experience with test management software such as Xray.

• Experience with issue/defect tracking and change management tools, such as JIRA or ServiceNow.

• Proficient in gathering and preparing data and files for testing.

• Experience with change management, release packaging and deployment concepts

• Practical experience reviewing and researching log files to troubleshoot issues.

• Experience with test automation concepts and tools, including automation scripting languages/tools

• Has tool experience relevant to requirements engineering, continuous integration, Agile team support and testing frameworks, e.g., JIRA, Selenium and Confluence.

• Strong experience in developing and executing SQL statements for testing and validation.

• Excellent testing and troubleshooting skills and ability to work with department staff to resolve technical issues.

• Experience in testing front-end and back-end systems.

• Experience within payment card industry and technologies.

• Experience with kiosk or point of sale device testing.
